Born on April 26, 1949 in the city of Omsk.
After graduating from the Leningrad Shipbuilding Institute in 1972, he started his career at the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau.
Having proved his skills at all levels of design and engineering positions, in 1991 he was appointed Chief Designer, and then - Chief Engineer of the Almaz CMDB, JSC.
In 1992, he was appointed Head, and in 1998, General Director of the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau.
Doctor of Technical Sciences, Academician of the St. - Petersburg Academy of Engineering, Professor of St. Petersburg State Technical University.
Awarded with the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology for the development and creation of new equipment (1998, 2011)
Rewarded with the Order of Honor (1999), the Order for Services to the Fatherland (IV Degree, 2006), the Order for Services to the Fatherland (III Degree, 2014), medals "300th Anniversary of the Russian Fleet" and "In Memory of the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg.
