A small fast patrol boat (FPB) is designed for on call actions in the coastal area of territorial seas, in ports and its roadsteads, on lakes and in estuaries of navigable rivers, for quick delivery of inspection teams enforcing navigation rules, transportation of goods regulations or other types of business norms and prescriptions effective within the area in control. The FPB can also be used as a general service launch or a rescue launch.
The boat is designed for guarding the state border at sea and patrolling the territorial waters, for on-call actions in EEZ, for patrol servise in motion and at anchor, for support of checkpoints at sea (vessels inspection, police or customs operations ect.) for detection and interception of trespassers, smugglers, and pirates, including those using high-speed craft.
The vessel is designed for mine protection of naval bases and coastal areas; for detection and destruction of mines of all types; for mine defence of vessels during voyage, of EEZ and undersea mineral resources areas; for antimine reconnaissance as well as for minelaying. During the time of low probability of mine threats a vessel can be used for protection of certain sea areas or for training of naval personnel.
An inshore minesweeper is designed for mine countermeasures (MCM) operations at sea near ports, bases, their exits, coastal shelf zone at depths down to 100m and popular tourist shallow water routes, and seaways between resort islands of nations whose tourist business profits make a considerable part of the national budget.
